Sash window designs have been around for over 400 years and still to this day they have mass appeal.
We can never envisage a time when sash windows will fall out of favour – they’re a timeless window style. Sash windows were the only window style considered by this residence’s occupiers as they had always been a fan of them and the only slight bit of customisation they requested was the inclusion of Georgian bars. Like with any sash window, you slide them up and skywards to create an opening and invite some fresh air into the building. What is significantly different to original sash windows is that these replacement windows are built from UPVC, not wood.
And it wasn’t just sash windows they liked. They also had a liking for Georgian bars, explaining why they have a presence within the captivating French doors. The French doors give the family more of an excuse to get outside and enjoy the sunshine in summer with a barbecue burning away and several drinks to hand. It’s the arched sash window that attracts the most attention. You wouldn’t believe how much precision had to go into its design, but the hard work was worth it. To finish things off and complete the transformation, a new black composite door was integrated into the entrance.
