Incredible Design & Styling

The list of benefits UPVC provides is almost endless; from incredible strength and durability, to lightness and versatility in design. As such, it is a fantastic choice for exterior home improvements.

UPVC porches have proven popular because their clean, crisp lines enable styling that can effortlessly compliment the variety of housing designs found in this area. Providing everyday functionality, a UPVC porch helps keep you home more clutter-free, as well as creating a practical and versatile transfer area between the outside and inside of your home.

A Porch for all Seasons

Offering unrivalled strength and resilience, our UPVC porches are renowned for their durability; making them ideal for the challenging British weather.

Never rotting, rusting, fading, or needing repainting, cheap UPVC porches are remarkably low maintenance; often requiring nothing more than a quick wipe with a cloth to look brand new again.

Featuring toughened frames that provide exceptional security, these porches are perhaps best known for their incredible energy efficiency. Surpassing the insulation properties of both wood and aluminium, UPVC porches do not conduct heat; thereby preventing heat from leaving your home and cold from entering it.

Security

For a porch to remain exempt from building regulations the original front entrance door to the house must remain in situ, but that should not mean that the security of the porch itself is overlooked. Our porch windows and doors can all be specified with the same security features as our standard windows and doors, including: high security hinges and handles; multi-point locking systems; dog bolts; and anti-bump/snap cylinders on doors. Such security features will turn your porch into a useful and safe place to store some of your possessions, as well as giving you the confidence to have ornaments, pictures and other decorations on display.

Practical

Porches are regularly used as a placed for comers and go-ers to take off and put on their shoes, coats and other outdoor clothing, particularly in the winter months. Therefore, in order for a porch to serve its purpose properly, it must be as warm and thermally efficient as the main building. This is easily achievable by incorporating modern double glazed windows, doors and roofing systems so the porch will become a much welcomed shelter if the weather has taken a turn for the worse while you’re out and about.

Cost Effective

Quite often a porch is more of a functional improvement to the home, rather than an aspirational investment such as an orangery or conservatory. Even so, many homeowners with a porch will testify that they now couldn’t live without one, such is its usefulness for hanging coats, storing shoes and generally enabling them to have a clean and clutter-free home. A porch with UPVC windows and doors, and a lightweight Warm Roof, is probably much more affordable than you think and is almost a must-have for properties that house large families and welcome regular guests.

Durability, strength and toughness are all words you can associate with our tiling solutions

There are two types of Warm Roof covering that are both lightweight – making them ideal for use on conservatories in particular – and completely weather proof. The first is lightweight tile which is available in five colour options and the second is lightweight slate which emulates, to fantastic effect, the look of natural slate.

Lightweight Tile

Lighter than traditional roofing materials, quicker to fit and extremely low maintenance, this option really is ideal for conservatories, orangeries, porches and extensions alike. A colour range that boasts ebony, red, umber, green and charcoal will enable you to create the external look that you desire from your new or refurbished roof.

Lightweight Slate

Equally suitable for a low pitched roof this option is a modern equivalent to traditional slate roofing which has timeless appeal. Crucially, lightweight slate does not crack or de-laminate like natural slate can sometimes do over time. Specially moulded to mirror the genuine peaks, plateau and curves of natural slate, this roof covering is available in a colour palette that includes stone black, pewter grey, plum, brick red, and chestnut brown.

Colours

Our lightweight tile is available in five colour options (shades of red, grey and brown) each designed to match closely with your existing house roof. With its exceptional durability, our lightweight tile offers superior performance and all the advantages of stone-coated steel. The lightweight slate comes in grey, black and red, again designed to complement the original building.

Planning Permissions

The majority of porches are considered as a ‘permitted development’ and do not require planning permission. This means that your project can likely be started and finished much quicker that would be the case if a planning application had to be submitted. Porches that will be added to a house will be a permitted development so long as (1) the internal ground floor area does not exceed three square metres; (2) no part of the porch is more than three metres above ground level; (3) no part of the porch is within two metres of any boundary of the dwelling and the highway.

Building Regulations

In the same ways that porches often don’t need planning permission, they are commonly exempt from building regulations too, providing that they are less than thirty square metres in size, measured internally. The main front entrance door between the existing house and new porch much remain in situ, and the new porch must not adversely affect any ramped or levelled access. Needless to say the fitting of glazing and any fixed electrical installations much comply with the relevant section of building regulations.
