Based at the company’s Wakefield manufacturing hub, David brings with him over 25 years’ experience within health and safety positions across a variety of industries. David’s career has seen him work primarily in the construction and manufacturing sectors respectively, most notably on a number of major projects for industry-leading companies Skanska and Carillion. One of David’s most high-profile positions saw him work on the development of the London Olympic Park in 2010.
Working as part of the Conservatory Outlet Group, which also encompasses retail giants Clearview Home Improvements (North West) and Pennine Home Improvements (North East), David will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive health and safety strategy across all three businesses. David’s first key project within his new position will be to review all operations across the Group, with particular emphasis on the installation process. David will also work to ensure the three companies continue to perform in line with the latest Construction Regulations.
David’s appointment follows the announcement of Asif Younis as Conservatory Outlet’s new Head of Software. Further management appointments are expected in the coming weeks.
David said he was delighted to have joined the Conservatory Outlet team: “Having gone through a lengthy recruitment process, I’m tremendously excited to get started within the role. I’m confident that the skills I’ve honed and crafted in recent years will stand me in good stead when leading and implementing the Conservatory Outlet Group’s health and safety strategy.”
Greg Kane, CEO at Conservatory outlet Group, added: “With our three companies spanning the entire home improvement process – from manufacturing to installation – we place a huge amount of emphasis on our health and safety procedures. It’s a field in which we’ve had a great deal of success in recent years, with workplace accidents down by 43% since 2018. We’re hugely confident that David will help to sustain and build on this success during his time with us. His knowledge and expertise will prove pivotal in working towards our lofty goals in 2021 and beyond.”
