France is regularly one of the most popular destinations for Britons when they fancy taking a trip abroad. But some of us cannot always afford the expense of such a journey. Worry not as you can bring a touch of France to your own home with the addition of some stylish French doors.

Double opening French doors are a great way of connecting the living room area with the back garden and on those days when the sun is shining brightly, you can open their double doors and they can provide ideal ventilation to cool you and your home down.

Most French doors are composed of uPVC meaning that they are very easy to maintain, resistant to rot, warping and flaking and on the rare occasion when they need to be cleaned they can be easily wiped down. High security hinges are also installed, meaning that intruders will find it extremely difficult to break in. They also have the capability to be opened inwards or outwards, rather than just side to side like the traditional patio door.

That is not to say that patio doors are not an option worth considering. It could be that you want easy access to your garden so that you can hang the washing out, if that is the case then choose a patio door. You may regular hold a barbecue at the back of the house, a patio door will provide you with entrance into your home should the weather ever take a turn for the worse.

Either way the French or patio door will provide great views of the back of your home and are also the perfect way of keeping your eyes on the kids when they are playing out the back. You could even go that one step further by considering conservatories or an orangery if you really want to give your home the full makeover.
